ASF Cheerleaders Volunteer at the Neonatal ICU Reunion
As part of our mission to be “more than just cheerleading”, we like to be involved in our community. This year marks our third year volunteering at the Neonatal ICU Reunion at the Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
This summer, their NICU celebrated its 12th anniversary of caring for infants born as early as 25 weeks gestation to 28 days old including premature babies, multiples and the very ill. Some babies even weigh less than a pound! Any parent that has ever had a baby graduate from the NICU knows just how special it is, and the staff at Legacy Salmon Creek throws quite the party for their families each year to come back and celebrate.
The celebration, which includes popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream, games, prizes, and amazing raffle items. We bring our mats and give kids the opportunity to stunt with our cheerleaders. It’s an awesome experience for the graduates, as well as our athletes, and we look forward to year number four in 2018. <3
